For the past couple of months I was playing Divinity Original Sin with a friend using Galaxy and it was working relatively fine. Of course there was plenty of "multiplayer bugs" (Desynchronization between the health bars, wrong order in the action bar, character missing equipment after a game load, etc...) but it was playable without lag and it connected without issues, etc...

But starting Friday of last week it no longer works:

I see him in Galaxy, in the game in the "send invitation" screen I also see him, when I send him the invitation he receive it, it launch the game when it accept it; but then he end up with a "joining failed".

- We didn't change anything in our computer or Windows (we both have Windows 10 creators update, up to date, no new program installed, etc...)
- We tried to do a verify / repair of the game
- We even tried to disable our firewall / anti-virus

But It doesn't change anything; the strange thing is that, if I set my game to public he is unable to see it in the multi-player join screen.

Personally I only see three possible things :

- Our ISP updated our router and it broke something (Possible but it doesn't seem to impact other games)
- It's a side-effect of a Windows security update (Unlikely it at worse it should have reseted the firewall rules)
- One of the numerous recent Galaxy update broke multiplayer with D:OS

Has anybody been able recently to play multiplayer via Galaxy since last Friday ?
Anybody has any idea of anything I can try to try to correct this issue ?
At least does anybody know the ports used by Galaxy/D:OS so that I can check that there is no other program/services using them ?

I run out of idea apart from using a VPN and try to play via LAN :( .

Did you each try joining the other in a new multiplayer game?

Have you tried Direct Connection, using either an IP address or Server ID (which the host can get in the Connection Menu [hit Esc to bring up the menu in character creation or in game, or click the diamond icon at the top of the mini-map in game])?

Yes, I created a new profile, a new game and sent him and invitation, didn't work, he tried to do the same and invite me, didn't work either.

We tried a direct connection using the server ID, same result on both side, at first it looks like it's connecting but then we end up with a "Joining Failed".

Have you tried at different times of the day, in case your ISP is having issues, or throttling at high traffic times, etc?

Have either of you tried playing co-op with anyone else? That might help narrow down whether the issues is with one end of the connection, or something in between.
Having similar issues with my friend. We played on and off for the past few months and had connection issues before, but nothing major. We've just tried to connect, but didn't manage to see any results - just the "Joining failed" info.

We've tried:
- unlocking the game in Windows Firewall for both private and public connections
- restarting both of our systems just in case it was some sort of temporary mix-up within Windows
- Verifying/Repairing the game files using the GOG Galaxy client
- joining via the direct ID system, which prompted the game to hang itself on my friend's computer, he had to kill the process

It's a neat game, too bad we're having these issues, as we're reconsidering buying multiplayer games on GOG as a consequence of these problems :(

Yes, we tried multiple days at different time; I haven't tried reconfigure my router but it didn't help. I haven't tried with somebody else yet though, don't know somebody else who play D:OS online. The only thing I haven't tried yet is to configure a DMZ on my router and put my gaming PC in it (but for obvious reason that something I would rather avoid doing)

Currently we were able to work around the issue by using Hamachi and using direct IP connection but it's less than ideal.

By any chance would you able to test on your side to see if it's not an issue on Galaxy side ? as in D:OS no longer able to connect to it or something missing / broken with in the latest Galaxy update, etc....

Yeah very similar issues, was working fine for months and suddenly, without changing anything, it stopped. That's why I wondered if maybe it was linked to one of the numerous Galaxy updates rather than some change in the network.

Were you shutting down anti-virus programs, as well, and anything network related?
Did your friend try hosting when testing Direct Connection?

I'll be online off and on today (and hopefully more consistently on tomorrow), if either or both of you would like to try connecting (raze@larian.com). I have not played online through Galaxy before, though, so if it works it implies it is at least not a universal problem with Galaxy, but if it doesn't it could be a problem on my end.

Hey, Raze.

I'll take you up on playing through Galaxy as soon as I've got the time, Tuesday probably. The time zone difference will be tricky to manage, but we'll see how it goes.

I didn't shut down the anti-virus program, and we didn't try hosting the other way around because I was the one who was saving the game, so we'd have to start from scratch if the friend hosted. As for the anti-virus, it never acted up before, but I'll check that at the nearest possibility.

This time Tuesday I hope to be in bed (5:45am), but you never know (usually up til 4am, anyway, to overlap with morning in Belgium). From about 7-8 hours earlier I should be around, though.

You can test if the other person can host in a new game, and if it works that way, you can email the latest save, or upload it to Dropbox or Google drive, etc.
Each save is a folder in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition\PlayerProfiles\<ProfileName>\Savegames_patch' folder.

Ok, so I made a post this morning but apparently Gog forum decide to swallow it :-) ... so I repost it.

I was saying: Thanks for the offer, I am also in Europe so it might be hard to find a timezone that work for both of use.

I currently (21:34 CET) have create a multiplayer game, public, the direct access token is YCTTX7TNUGWE3; if by chance you are online you can try to connect to see if it works for you; Lord_Kristof in case you are online you can also try to connect if you want, I will keep it active until around 1AM CET.

I just tried and got a connection failed, but may have been too late. Tuesdays I have recurring plans, so am free early here, and late.

Yeah it was probably too late, I checked the forum before stopping my PC and there was no message so you probably tried after that.

I am busy tonight, but I can do the same thing again Thursday, I can even let the PC run the whole night.

Thursday shouldn't be a problem for me trying earlier. If we're online at the same time we can try swapping hosts or connecting through Galaxy.

I will try to be online tonight (Thursday) between 10PM (maybe a little earlier) and 1AM.

EDIT : Ok I have created a game, FYSAXC2ER28E2, I am currently AFK (21:25 CET) but I will be back in one hour.

EDIT2: I am going to sleep, but I have left the game running, if you want to try,

EDIT3: I stopped it now (8:35 CET)

Hey Gersen. Are you up for checking this today or tomorrow?
