After starting up the version with the developers console it said that save could be corrupted. So I would ike to be abcle to make a back up of my save but cannot find where the saves are on my computer. Some help would be appreciated.

Mine are here:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames\

I don't have the GOG version, but for the version I have the save location appears to be hard-coded, as my copy isn't installed in the default location.

In XP the saves are in the folder

C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \Local Settings\Application Data\Divinity 2\Savegames


or in Vista / Win 7 (as bevinator said)

C:\Users\ %username% \AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames


You may need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folders (XP, Vista, Win 7).
