Raze_Larian: That's not what I said, but it's not worth saying it again.

tx3000: You outright stated posting all the the router information wouldn't be possible.

And you wanted examples of tutorials and things that get right to the point with no useless information so i gave them to you.

What more do you want?
Raze_Larian said that posting information for every possible router WHILE AT THE SAME TIME not posting anything useless for anyone reading the information is impossible. So if you post information about how to port forward on 1000 different routers, 999 bits of information are useless to anyone reading the guide, because everyone just has one router (and even if someone has 100 different routers there would be 900 bits of useless information).

Due to recent events, I really don't care what RAZE said or has to say to me or about anything anymore. He's a complete joke and doesn't know how to moderate.

Raze_Larian: No, it is impossible to include all information about every possible set of instruction for port forwarding, and also not include unnecessary information. Any one person would need only 1 set of instructions, out of the thousands that could be posted.

tx3000: No it's not impossible. It absolutely can be done. There is a difference between people not WANTING TO DO SOMETHING, and something not being able to be done and this is something People don't want to do.

But that is besides the point, the bottom line is if people don't want to take the time to provide all the information in one place, then they shouldn't be posting a topic titled This is how to (Insert Name) because that is a lie.

Have a topic with a title about showing/explaining how to do something that doesn't contain all the information in it that shows how to do what the topic title says it's going to..is a lie No excuses, no stories, no opinions

That's all there is to it.
I really think you do not understand what you are demanding here, if I had posted these steps for every single router that is out there you probably would have been mad at me for the length of the post and the repetition would have been quite alot. I think you give people to little credit your are basically saying that everyone out there is to dumb to read their routers UI and would require babysteps and images for every single mouse/keyboard click.

The directions I gave are solid, and should work for the majority of routers out there.

And I wholeheartedly disagree with your statement that any instruction is invalid if you have to open up a new window to use a search engine, and I am sure most people will agree with me here. Part of the instruction, as in, one step of the instruction is to lookup elsewhere how to do another step specifically for your own hardware (since there are to many to list here), this is a subset of the instructions, this does not make the instructions invalid.

I created this topic so that ANYONE can connect which is exactly what my instructions do, they allow ANYONE reading them to connect. What you have posted is not only a mess but will only allow a very small handful of people to be able to connect instead of everyone.

I actually tried following what you posted and gave up after a half hour because nothing is explained and it's impossible to do without instructions. So Let me show you every piece of information you left out so you can see what you posted is impossible to do. I actually had to reset my router back to factory settings and then redo the security in it because you didn't bother explaining anything. It's your fault my router got messed up...Had you explained it properly like you should have, things might have been different.

Also this whole thing of you saying you disagree with having to look anything up is majorly flawed, what has to be looked up on port fowarding in order to do it..DOES NOT EXIST.

tx3000: 1. Download, install, and create a network on Hamachi
2. Give out Hamachi network connection information and have people join it
3. Have people copy the Hamachi IP 4 into the Direct Connect menu of their game.
4. Launch Hamachi and start a game, and anyone on your network can join within the limits of the game
Well your instructions are not all that...
1.You are missing, where should I download it, how should I install it, how do I create a network on hamachi (you assume everyone here has used hamachi before, where are the images detailing every step)?
2.What is the network connection information and where do I find it, how do people join it?
3. Where can I find the hamachi ip? What menu are you talking about in the game?
4. How do I add people to my network?

Not so simple after all if you were to follow your own demands.

Quit splitting hairs you fucking cunt, everyone knows how to install a program almost no one knows how to do whatever that mess you said is. Also every gamer knows exactly how to install Hamachi and knows all about it.
You ask any gamer what Hamachi is they will tell you, but if you ask every gamer what port forwarding is you will get blank stares and wrong answers

Even without instructions hamachi is easy enough for anyone messing around with it to figure it out while your instructions don't even work without a degree in computer science.

So again don't split hairs with this you fucking asshole.

Well that escalated quickly, you sir need to calm down.

There are plenty of people out there that have no idea what hamachi is and what it does, just like there are plenty of people out there that have no idea what port forwarding is and does, this is why we try and explain it to them, your instructions work fine for people that know what hamachi is and does but are equally useless to people that do not know what hamachi is and does as you say my instructions are to everyone. No amount of name calling or cursing will change that.
Oh dear, once again tx3000 has found that it is best to swear obscenities at people that disagree with him/her.

It is unfortunate as I think tx3000 has a lot of good information to share.
But swearing, (especially that "c" word), in a forum where you have time to think and rephrase your comments before hitting the post button, gives the impression of immaturity and in most cases will alienate you and your post will not be treated with the respect that it may otherwise deserve.
Wow that really escalated fantastically... But contrary to popular opinion I had no problems while connecting with DirectConnect to my friends' games who are playing on steam. All you need is their ip address (which can be neatly retrieved from whatismyip.com). Also they need to enable directconnect (or somesuch) from their server settings.
I salute you brave souls who are attempting to have a rational and reasonable conversation with tx3000. I've followed his other Divinity threads with amusement, and I can tell you that -55 rep is well deserved.
