Can I allow myself to be a little sneaky and buy only one copy of Divinity: Original Sin then give a copy to my friend so we can play in coop? Or do we have to buy one copy each despite having no DRM?

Ask your conscience that question. Then ask yourself why should developers embrace a DRM free philosophy if people don't embrace it, and purchase the games in good faith. You know the answers.

Well, I wanted a functional answer, not a subjective one. If I were to 'ask my conscience' I wouldn't have started this topic ._. It's not like Larian is losing money due to me wanting to give my copy to someone who wouldn't buy it anyway.

Let me reinforce the "wouldn't buy it anyway" part. He won't buy the game.
I'd buy a copy for me and hand it to him so he could at least play with me in coop.

Anyways, enough sjw talk... I guess I'll pass.

What the heck is SJW? Anyway, D:OS currently only works through LAN and direct connect. So, you do the math. I for one love Larian and suggest its games to everyone. I just can't get enough of the Divinity series.
