During the game I press F11 and... nothing happens. What wrong?
Did you start DKS or the version with the Developer Mode? There are separate shortcuts for each.

BTW, is an issue with the shortcut for the Developer Mode; right click on the shortcut, select Properties and add bin at the end of the 'Start in' line (or delete the shortcut, browse to that folder in Windows Explorer and create a new one).

Thanks, I have only one on my desktop, and was unaware of second.
Sorry for bringing a dead thread back to life, but I have just recent;y bought this game and have the same problem of not actually being able to use the dev console. Tried looking for the second shortcut but there's only one and it already ends with bin. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: Whoops never mind, found the answer on another thread. Sorry for bothering.

I actually having the same problem, I have windows 8 and I'm new to it so it makes it impossible to find just "computer - hard drive - (find second shortcut within)" but even if I could would it matter? I'm in game and press F11...that's also the mute button on my computer so that didn't work then FN-F11 still nothing ALT-F11 nothing again. Using shortcut off desktop and unable to enter the cheat console if you know of another way please help me.

J
PS grew very impatient trying to find the other thread he spoke of just btw, must be invisible cuz I saw nothing of the sort.

You should just need to hit FN-F11 if your computer has mapped the function keys to other features by default.
In the Developer Mode version of the game, there is a warning in red text on the left side of the main menu screen about using the Developer Mode and a mention of bring up the cheat window with F11.

If you hit the windows key, does that bring up a start menu in Windows 8? If you can not find the game's shortcuts that way, try hitting Win-E and see if that brings up Windows Explorer, to let you browse to the folder where you installed the game.

If the Search feature is east to get to, you could search for Divinity2-debug.exe (you might need to go into the advanced options to have it search in hidden and system folders if you installed the game in the Program Files path.
Okay, so I can't get the Developer's console to work in Divinty 2. I downloaded the GOG version and installed it just fine. It plays well enough, but I'd like to access the command console, but it won't work with the F11 key. What EXACTLY do I need to do to get it working properly?

Are you starting the normal version or the Developer Mode version? If the latter, there will be a red warning message on the left side of the main menu.

The retail version (from the Anthology) has an autorun.exe file in the 'Divinity II - Developers Cut' install folder, which opens a window giving the option to start Normal Made, Developer Mode or access a couple of extras (included in GOG's extras). The 'bin' subfolder contains 2 executable files, so if you can not find the Start menu shortcut for the Developer Mode version, you can simply make another desktop shortcut to Divinity2-debug.exe.

I finally went looking on a hunch and found the 'divinity 2-debug.exe' file I was looking for. I'm SERIOUSLY enjoying this game again.

Now, where can I get a great full version walkthrough. Are there any strategy guides out there that cover BOTH DKS and Flames of vengeance?

FoV is part of DKS, so anything for DKS / D2:DC should include sections for both D2:ED and FoV. I don't know of anything in a walkthrough format.
