I had difficulty getting D2: DC to run on a Windows 10 laptop, so I want to share my solution.

If the game starts up with the Larian splash screen, then another splash screen, then terminates immediately, you may need to install/reinstall the "NVIDIA PhysX System Software". Fixed it for me.

The PhysX libraries are available on the www.NVIDIA.com/download area.

I didn't find this suggested anywhere, but I opened the data/ErrorMessages.XML file that comes with the game and it was mentioned there.

And this is not only for Nvidia(vga), it should work with AMD(or any other) too.
It worked for me with windows 10 64b.

this exact same fix worked on my win7 64 bit system.
As well as my Win10 64 bit system.

My win 7 system has an AMD CPU with an msi R9 270 vid card.
Win 10 is an Intel 6500 CPU and an msi rx 5500 xt vid card.

I say again the PhsyX drivers was the issue on both machines.

I just bought the game since it's on sale hopefully this truly works & fix the issue though I have to reinstall the game again though but I will update this once the game is installed again lol.

I understand that you're experiencing issues with Divinity 2: Developer's Cut not starting on Windows 10. I'll be happy to help you with this.

Let's get this figured out so you can play Divinity 2.

Make sure you're playing "Developer Mode". You need to launch it, through settings.
Next to your play button, click the two arrows.

There you'll see executables tab. Click it, and run "Developer Mode". It doesn't default to it, for some reason. And I couldn't get normal mode working to save my life.

Lock the game at 55 FPS as well.
