Hey I recently downloaded Divine Divinity with Gog Galaxy.

Now if I want to start the game via Gog Galaxy the game does not start and tells me there is no config file. This message pops up infinitely until I close the game via task manager.

When I try to open the configtool through Galaxy by clicking settings, the config tool opens in English ( I downloaded the german version. If I open the configtool directly it is in german.) and crashes when I apply settings or test the settings.

The game runs fine when I start it directly without Galaxy. It would still be good to have a solution for this because I would like to start it through Galaxy.

it worked fine for me through Galaxy/ Though i do normally run it from desktop shortcut and not through Galaxy.
maybe running it outside Galaxy creates the config file
does t still fail to run after having launched it without Galaxy?
without galaxy it works. maybe it has to do something with admin rights. my user account is without admin rights but the game needs it. of course i grant them when it asks for them but maybe something there doesnt address the right files.

Which folder did Galaxy install the game into?
"C:\Program Files (x86)\GalaxyClient\Games\Divine Divinity\div.exe"

That's the problem: "Program Files" is a protected folder and you shouldn't install games inside it. Uninstall the game, update Galaxy settings changing the default installation folder (choose a unprotected folder such as "C:\GOG"), then reinstall the game.
You should be able to just move the install folder, and in Galaxy, use the 'scan and import folders' to update the listing (if a new entry is created, 'uninstall' the old entry for the game').

In the current install location, it might help to right click the div.exe file, select Properties, switch to the Compatibility tab and check the option to always run as administrator.
In general, installing games to Program Files is not a good idea, though.
No, did not work. But thanks for the help.
