It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

(Windows 10) I've been trying my hardest to make it work after refunding it through steam, and I've managed to get some marginal success here. I can manage to make it past the launcher, but I notice some graphical oddities on the first screen and then the game crashes halfway through the loading bar.

I've tried the whole slew of workarounds available and nothing seems to stick. I've used the config files provided by Raze, the other configtool, changed the high DPI scaling settings and compatibiliy to 95/98(which seem to be the only ones to get the game to boot), as well as the windows 8 patch. If I so much as touch any of the fixes I won't even be able to get past the launcher, so I'm really not sure what options I have left.

Did you try the 4GB Patch? It increases increase the amount of virtual memory that the game (or any 32 bit application) can access in 64 bit versions of Windows. While a different game engine, it has helped with startup crashes in Divinity 2.

Maybe a virtual machine, with Win 7 or XP?

You could try it under Linux (depending on how motivated you are, or whether you were interested in checking out Linux anyway).

I'm not sure about the specifics, but a reinstall outside of the program files directory as well as the usual tweaks to DPI scaling and setting it onto Windows 95 compatibility makes the game work perfectly now. Also works on Linux, but it's nice to have it sorted on Windows 10.
