When I run Beyond Divinity it gets all slow and stuttery--in particular the sound stutters in a manner that makes it sound a bit like the game has a dubstep soundtrack. I'm using Windows Vista, and at first the game ran fine, but after setting it to Windows 98 compatibility mode in order to fix an inventory bug, the game has gotten all wonky. I've done all the standard stuff to try and fix it--stuff I'd already done due to the inventory bug--but so far it's a no go.

Have you tried different compatibility modes? One person with Win 7 64 bit found a compatibility mode of Windows NT Service Pack 5 also prevented the inventory corruption.

Someone with the Steam version of Divine Divinity reported an occasional drop in audio quality, which they fixed by lowering the audio quality in Windows to 'DVD". Right click on the task bar sound icon and select Playback Devices, then right click on your speakers and select Properties, then switch to the Advanced tab, and see if changing the audio quality helps.

Some people with occasional static problems in Divine Divinity were able to fix it by setting the game to run on a single core (alt-tab out of the game and go through the Task Manager, or see Sound errors with static - maybe fix found).
