So, since I just preordered TW2, I can get one of these two games for free, and I don't really want the other 3 that are offered.

Now, I've heard that DD has less bugs and seems to be a higher quality that BD, and BD has a better story and atmosphere.

Which one is more "fun" Which do you recommend? I'll probably NOT buy both at any time as I have HUNDREDS of games (fu Steam sales) and once TW2 comes out, I'll be playing it pretty heavily.

Thanks in advance for the advice! :)

IMHO, DD is by far the better of the two. Played DD thru more than once and was looking forward to BD. Played BD about a quarter of the way thru and just lost interest, not the same game at all, different interface, bad voice acting etc. Some may like BD but DD would be my recommendation . . . =)

Edit: DD was lots of fun . . . BD not so much . . . for me that is.

Heya, thanks for posting! Sorry about it seeming to be confusing, but I called both of them games "DD" without meaning too. :p

I'll probably get BD then, looks like it's a better version of Diablo 2, which I played quite a bit when it was released to say the least.

You're welcome but . . . I still recommend Divine Divinity over Beyond Divinity. I really think you would enjoy DD more.

DD has some things in common with Diablo 2 but it's not a mirror of game play etc. I actually uninstalled Diablo 2 and kept Divine Divinity as I enjoyed it much more than Diablo 2 . . . to my surprise . . . more fun, better story, better quests, better equipment drops, better music, save anytime, any character could use any weapon or magic as well as any other character . . .IMHO . . . =D

I still have good ol' Hellfire installed just in case I need a Diablo fix. . . =)
Lol I did it again, all these "d's" be messing with me. :p. DD it is. :)
Hi there I took BD as free game for Witcher 2 ... to control that second char is terrible ... he is doing nothing if it would be a roundbased combat it would be okay, but RT is terrible ... already stopped after 4 hours playing ...

and I am playing since 30 !!! years every CRPG which looked promising ...

SO IS DD singelchar or also with a group , which is terrible !
i personaly liked dd better

In DD, you control a single character . . . =)
Is there any other so to speak continuation of DD? I really fell in love with this game and its raw, dark climate/character development story etc. I've heared only of this BD thing but unfortunately what I've also heard is thtat it's pretty crap ;/
DD.
I'd recommend it anytime, but beside that BD just has a too unrealistic looking world, it reminds me of Warcraft all the time and I couldn't play it without starting to laugh maniacally at some points because it just looked so shitty, but it sure does have a good storyline.
But DD is just superior.
By the way, there's not real 'continuation' of DD, there's the Ego Draconis series but that's a lot later in time and features a whole new fight against Damian with a new protagonist and a new world & setting (I didn't like it much for Xbox, I don't know about the PC version though)
Thx...Anyway i do not play excessively therefore when i heared of that ego draconis crap i totally consciously omitted that game. No 2D World, no hack 'n' slashin', no previous great SUPERB climate = worse.

And if I really want to play good 'new school' action RPG with a guarantee of not wasting my precious time i'll go with Witcher. For me game choice is as simple as this ;P

Divine Divinity II was released some time ago as well as some expansions for the game. It is the true continuation of Divine Divinity where as Beyond Divinity is . . . sorta like a new game based on DD?? There are similarities but the interface is different, you have a Death Knight attached at all times (you can control both or either character separately) and some really bad voice acting.

Seems I heard they were going to remove the DRM from DD2 but I believe the expansions and DLC still have it so . . .might want to look into the DRM included before purchasing.

DD II is the Ego Draconis crap and it isn't a real continuation, it just imitates the style of the first game whereas BD is completly different. A continuation it would've been if it had started up in the same world around the same time the last one ended.
Draconis begins with the birth of a new Devine (you) after the first one (old you from DD) has been killed by the incarnation of the demon he took in (Damian) - ah, I suck at explaining in english, but it has a totally different experience to it - not recommended.

Thanks for the info, my only meaning was that DD 2 is more like DD than BD and that BD was not much fun for me.
