Hey all,

I am currently working my way through DOS:EE after having played it on and off for months. I am fairly completionist and try to explore and do as much as I can, although I am not striving for a 100% play through. I am currently in the part of the game where I have freed the White Witch and am working my way through the mines with the death knights.

Would anyone be able to tell me approximately how far into the game I am and approximately how long I have left to play, taking into account that I would probably finish most side quests I find on the way? It is a very long game and I am trying to plan my precious little free time before I start my new job!

Very much looking forward to the sequel, by the way! I missed the Kickstarter campaign but happy to be a day 1 purchaser after my experience with DOS.

That being said, are there any character build compendiums out there? I do struggle with the mechanics and the character building at times.

Thanks a bunch!

I haven't played EE but since this has been here nearly a day, I'll take a stab based on Classic (which is likely very similar story/time wise): about half way.

Thanks and oh dear!
I also didn't finish it, but I heard there are three big regions. So if you reach the region with the white witch (the second region), you are 33% done. So after having freed her, 50% seems reasonable.

Four regions! The first region you start the game with, the second where the mines are also located, the area the witch gets freed from, and then one more.

You are half way there. Since you say you've been playing on and off for months I'd say you still have a few months to go :P.

Depends heavily on what order you did stuff in prior to the mines. Did you go straight there? Did you do any of the stuff involving Loic in Silverglen? Any of the sidequests in the area first, or going straight to the main quest? How far into the mines?

Basically, though, you're in the third area out of four, and the second of the two longer ones. I wouldn't say there's as much to do in Luculla as Cyseal, but maybe that's because I was still learning the ropes in Cyseal. We'll see on my second run in Tactician. Next zone after Luculla is I'd say about the size of Hiberheim, so smaller than Cyseal and Luculla, and then you're off to the final battle at the end there. That should about cover it.
Many thanks for the responses all. I finally finished the game last night - what a marathon it was! Very much looking forward to the sequel.
