I've recently started playing Divine Divinity with a survivor-archer (I truly enjoy it). Therefore, I have a couple of questions:

1) Does a damage bonus given by strength affect ranged attacks too?

2) Does the augment damage skill apply to melee attacks only? The in-game description doesn't say so and I am unsure.

3) Is the true sight skill worth taking at all? I've read that it's necessary to deal with some high-level bosses, is it really?

4) Is it better to develop the bow expertise rather than the crossbow one? Xbows are generally cool, but they seem to be inferior in this game...

5) As I know, the true shot skill is broken in the current version of the game. Has any progress been made towards fixing this issue?

I will be grateful for your help :)

The strength damage bonus and Augment Damage are melee only.

There are not enough opponents that use invisibility to make True Sight worth getting, and they are not tough, in any case. There is a tough boss that uses Blind (and Hell Spikes), which has kind of the same effect as invisibility, but in that case if you can not resist the spell you can either us a shadow potion, Sneak or Hide in Shadows to wait for the effect to wear off, or use an area effect attack that doesn't need a target.

I'm not sure about bows vs crossbows. I think bows are better, but I only got my archer character up to level 8 or 10 before abandoning that game (got distracted and just never went back).

No, there has been no progress on True Shot.

Thank you, Raze (helpful as always)! Now I know how to develop my character. However, it's kind of sad that there's no way to efficiently boost the ranged attack damage, since there are no attributes/skills which would do so. Well, I need to find some really ass-kicking bow instead :)

Poison Weapon on a bow works quite well for many opponents (spiders and undead are resistant, for example, but orcs are vulnerable to poison).
