Are you using the Galaxy client, and does it have internet access, to be able to connect to GOG's servers?

Probably because the net speed of GOG is not so good in the PRC. I succeeded on my second try.

I succeeded on a second play through. Maybe it was because i at first turned down the challenge then came back and did it. Not in PRC.
