I am also concerned about this kind of bug. It happened since the early alpha versions of the game and has NEVER BEEN correctly adressed for now. Also, invitations through GoG galaxy have never worked for me. Please consider that DoS delivers its best potential in the field of multiplayer experience.

So it wasn't a problem with earlier versions?

Are you getting the crash report window come up after the game crashes, to send the crash details to Larian?

A few people ran into this error in the first D:OS; it is rarer in D:OS 2, but a few others have also reported it. Several people in QA used to get this error randomly in early versions, but that has not been the case in some time (though it very rarely happens when running multiple instances of the game on the same system).

Try disabling texture streaming (that is the main cause of reloading textures). This can improve performance, but also increases memory usage, so could cause stability issues on systems with less than 4GB RAM. It might cause a crash on startup, but it is easy to change back if it does.
Open the graphicSettings.lsx configuration file (in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2' folder) in Wordpad, or other text editor, and search for the term 'Stream'; two lines below that, change the one to a zero to disable texture streaming.

<node id="ConfigEntry">
<attribute id="MapKey" value="TextureStreamingEnabled" type="22" />
<attribute id="Type" value="0" type="5" />
<attribute id="Value" value="1" type="4" />
</node>

DXGI ERROR Crash

DXGI device removed error/CreateTexture2D failed

As mentioned in the second topic, there is a program called TDR Manipulator that can change a Windows setting to controls if and how Windows restarts the video drivers (see here). Telling Windows to stop the resets may eliminate the crashes with the game, though if there is an actual problem causing the resets it will not be fixed, and could potentially lead the computer freezing.

Check for updated graphics drivers and Windows updates in general.

Try verifying local files: in Galaxy, select Divinity: Original Sin 2 in the left column, then click on the More button, and in the Manage menu select 'Verify / Repair'.

In the graphics options, try switching the Quality Preset to Low or Very Low, and see if that makes a difference. You could also try a lower game resolution or switching to the Windowed display mode.

I have followed all the previous steps but the same error message persists.

processor i7 930, ati Radeon R9 280X with 3Gb video memory and 16Gb of Ram system.
I use windows 10 pro 64 bit.

have 300 games on steam and 190 games on gog. Dos 2 is the only one game that has this issue. I

DOS 1 on the same compute never get this issue and any others games on my computer.

I am very disapointed about this issue. For me, i think that is an issue with DOS 2.

I updated ATI graphics drivers 17.6.1 and updates in general.

That could be. A couple people in QA had this error periodically some time ago (IIRC one was once or twice a day, the other much less frequent), but it is extremely rare now when running a single copy of the game (sometimes happens when running multiple instances, when testing something in co-op, etc).

Does a crash report window come up asking to send details to Larian?
If not (it should if you are starting the game through the SupportTool.exe file), please email supportdos2@larian.com, with a link to this topic and a dxdiag report (WinKey-R, type in dxdiag and hit enter, then when it finishes loading click on the 'Save All Information...' button and save the report somewhere handy).
If you agreed to send in any crash reports, the programmers would already have the dxdiag file and crash details.
