It would be very nice if we had the option of obtaining physical damage staffs (or modifying existing staffs of whatever element into physical damage type).

It would very nicely synergize with Necromancy and Warfare on a high Intelligence character that wants to inflict physical damage by use staves and warfare skills and necromancy.

Right now if you max intellect but want to be a physical damage dealing warfare/necro melee character you are forced into using an elemental staff because its the only melee weapon that scales with intellect.

Unfortunately since that staff will switch your Warfare skills and attacks into whatever elemental type it inflicts (fire/air/water...) it will completely waste Warfare damage bonus (physical only) and cause you to attack magical armor which is the opposite of what Necromancy spells inflict (physical damage).
This also makes it difficult to inflict debuffs/crowdcontrol because your damage is forced to be split between physical (necro/bleeds) and elemental (warfare/melee).

I know there are mods that do something similar but honestly this feature should be in the game (either through gift bag or just by default).
If you can please add physical damage staffs to the game (perhaps even physical damage wands would be nice).

Edit: supposedly Trompdoy and some magisters in the first act actually use staffs (staves) that do physical damage, so it already exists in the game but players do not have access to physical staffs :(
