The announcement came from Kickstarter Update #42. This is why I purchased and played DOS 1. Having voice for all conversations makes the game much more immersive for me. I'll buy the game for sure.

Question though. As the update says, at first, full voice acting was originally not going to happen.
Why did Larian Studios change its mind?

That was answered in the Kickstarter update (basically, after doing full voices in D:OS EE, it's hard going back to partial voice acting).
About halfway through production, we realized just how big this game was getting. We thought there would be no way, either time or budget-wise, to voice it all. So we started small, hoping to improve the soundscape by voicing some one-liners and voice barks. But it just didn’t feel right. We wanted to hear our beloved characters talk. Really talk. So we crunched some numbers, poured some coffee and decided:

Oh heck, why not. Let's fully voice Divinity: Original Sin 2!

I'm happy for you all. To me, DOS2 is looking like a significant improvement over an award-winning game in every dimension you can measure. It's great to see you hitting internal stretch goals on top of everything else now.

This kind of thing is why I didn't hesitate to put money on the DOS2 kickstarter.
I am so glad that there's UK voice-work/accents in this game as North American is such an immersion breaker for me, plus too many North American localization efforts are usually piss-poor, as it sounds like they're coming from McDonalds line-cooks!

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but yeah, that is not a n00b voice actor as He's pretty much a mainstay in the divinity series, (Since Divinity 2; Divine/beyond divinity was however, fuckin' horrid!) plus, it's less dramatic and more light hearted as he clearly emotes his voice well even with his lightheartedness as an announcer/narrator...

But to be honest I would love to have Italian voice work as Italians are well known for their artistic quality, as well as UK actors...**North Americans do very well with our own domestic releases however, but we fail horribly with the majority of non-domestic localizations...

**By north Americans, I also mean Canadians as well.

I was talking seriously, i really loved how he voiced that trailer. The fault is on my expression, english is not my main language and i probably just translated what i was thinking in spanish in that moment :S

BTW, as i am not too great with accents...that's an english actor, right? Or maybe canadian? I mean, sometimes i am hearing an australian or a canadian and i think it's an english talking... No sarcasm here also ^^

Your English is much better than my Spanish, and there was nothing wrong with your expression as this is the Internet; where too many people use sarcasm, it is always better to ask before assuming what someone's intentions are though...And yeah; that's a British accent, I can see how australian and English can be mixed up! :)
Main character lines in dialogues aren't voiced. All lines encaged in asterisks and it's look ike this *tell NPC smth*.
I thought it was a placeholder in alfa, but it stays in release. Bug or Feature?

I've already suggested that this be changed, myself...I also thought it was only temporary for the alpha. As it is, the only time your main character speaks is when he talks to himself when no one else is present...;) Hopefully, they'll fix that...;)

Third person dialogue lines are a feature. First person was tested, but there would have needed to be multiple versions of every line to make them fit each origin character's personality, as well as the custom characters.
