Hi, I just finished playing the first act, and it's great. I will just list some bugs and suggestions:
Technical:
My Systen: AMD Crimson Driver on HD7770, Intel i5, Two Full HD screens side by side (DisplayPort + HDMI)
1. Switching to desktop is taking very long, sometimes doesn't work (only mouse cursor changes), sometimes even the game switched from one display to the other when pressing alt-tab.
2. Switch to Desktop doesn't mute audio is really bad, because one can't do anything besides playing, like surfing, youtube, music, teamspeak, etc... there is always disturbing ingame sound.
3. Audio control and device is missing. I have 5 audio devices connected (3,5mm Speakers, SPDIF-Receiver, BT-Speakers, BT-Headphones, HDMI-Projector), please make the output device selectable.
General gameplay:
1. Overview is missing, the world is so cluttered and thats really nice but I found myself always abusing the camera on hilltops, towers, any elevated position to get some kind of overview ... one or two more zoom-out levels would be great.
2. Damage numbers and statuses text was mostly out of screen, maybe a smart camera that centers beween caster and target would be better.
3. Quests and NPC are lovely an nice, but it seems very streamlined, those conversations are exactly the same and make no sense when you do something the other way round and meet an NPC after the fact.
Game mechanics (on classic):
1. Fights are too easy. CC rules, mostly I never even learnd what my enemies had up their sleeves. Could be deadly for myself if it went the other way, some enemies could attack 5 times in one round and insta-gib one of my party. Defuse CC a bit and make life and fights last a bit longer. Cooldowns are insignificant as of now. I almost never used grenades or arrows or source because of walk in the park...
2. All Ressources are very rare, one has always the feeling of hard choices for Skills, Attributes, Gear ... thats great, but I ended up with almost entirely neglecting 2 of 4 party members. Having no Geomancer, no Pyromancer, no Scoundrel, even my main char hat grey items when finishing the island. Especially a lack of strength based one-handed weapons and I found shields pretty much useless.
For Starters:
1. Starting area is cluttered and mostly devoid of interesting things and after half an hour you get into the town where you have to spend talking, partybuilding and quest collecting for the next 3 hours. Maybe stretch that a bit, place one or two of the town-NPCs in the starting Area, let them have a quest and remeet them in town. Do a few fights in between.
2. Source points and spells with source costs confuse before you learn about how to get source, and even then thoses points are too sparce for having such a large number of spells with source costs and rediculous memory costs. (for the first act)
thanks for the great experience, looking forward to the whole game.
