I just want to know if some of the achievements in this game are known to be broken or if I'm doing something wrong. So far most of the achievements in this game seem to have unlocked for me, but I know for a fact the "Successful Thievery" and "Meet Master Siva" (may not be called that but my game is in German) achievements are broken. They simply will not unlock. I've pickpocketed several people, the achievement simply refuses to pop up.

No, not that I know of.

Is Galaxy online, and not blocked by a change or update to your firewall, etc?

Try logging out of Galaxy, exit, reboot, restart Galaxy, log back in and see if that helps. Another person reported a problem triggering Steam achievements, fixed by restarting Steam.

If you create a new profile, start a new game on story difficulty and skip through the tutorial as much as possible to get to Fort Joy, does stealing there trigger that achievement?
After someone reported an issue getting Criminal Intent (being sent to jail) in Steam, I tested this in a new game, and got the Thief achievement by sneaking and stealing a couple items near Butter. Getting caught there triggers combat, though, so I had to fail pickpocketing a magister, refuse to allow a search (he didn't care about the stolen junk I had if I allowed the search) and accept being sent to prison to trigger the Criminal Intent achievement (I did this with Magister Holind, just east of Fort Joy square, with a character not having any Thievery). The player reported getting the achievement after that, but didn't specify what the initial problem was.

In Windows, try starting a Classic version game, and seeing if the thief achievement will unlock.

For meeting Miestr Siva, how did that encounter go? Just speaking to her at the gallows should unlock the achievement, when the dialog opens.

Hi, thanks so much for replying.

I play this game currently in online mode with a friend. As for Siva, we did meet her at the gallows, but I didn't personally talk to her right there; I only listened to the conversation my friend had with her before we were attacked by the magisters. It didn't cross my mind to personally talk to her at that time (and I presume there was no chance to do so since only one can speak to her before a fight ensues) until I noticed that it was an achievement. I did talk to her later in the cellar but it was still locked; the achievement description didn't specify she had to be talked to at the gallows so I assumed it's broken.

As for Thievery, I created a new game both in Classic and Definitive mode several times and successfully stole items from the first magister, but the achievement is still locked. I'm pretty sure at this point that this one is broken, unless there's something more to the achievement that I'm missing (the description only states "successful theft" so is there anything that could cause the game to think it wasn't successful despite me getting the item? Is the target supposed to never notice?)

Yes, I've restarted Galaxy several times between these attempts. As I stated, achievements have been unlocking fine so far, those two are the only ones I noticed didn't unlock when they seemingly should have.

***EDIT***
Nevermind for Thievery. Just as I wrote this and tried again, I unlocked the achievement.

It appears it's impossible to unlock it by pickpocketing. Instead, you have to steal an item that is lying around somewhere but considered belonging to another person.

I suppose this is simply an issue of the achievement description being too vague for what you're supposed to do. Anyhow, thanks for helping! It's unfortunate that the Siva achievement apparently can only be unlocked by one person in multiplayer unless there's some coordination going on where everyone makes sure everyone had a chance to talk to her before the fight.

There is an autosave just before the gallows; if you are not playing in honour mode difficulty, or have not gone too far past there, the host should be able to load a save earlier in Reaper's Coast, to let you speak to Siva.
