Played Distraint for the first time a couple of days ago for a few hours with no issues. Then played through the 3rd chapter with no issues today. Decided to restart during The Office chapter because I missed some detail.

After restarting the App, it auto-closed, and McAfee Antivirus popped up that it had identified a virus in Distraint.exe and removed it for me. Running Verify/Repair install and then launching the game again had the same issue - I get my game loaded and then McAfee shut it down and deleted it again.


The reported virus name is:
Real Protect-EC!B13D2D68119D


A search on the Steam forums showed at least one other user having the same issue but with a slightly different virus ID. Sounds like it is most likely a false positive from McAfee.
Running a direct scan on Distraint.exe does not report the issue - it only occurs while its running, so maybe it has to do with syncing to GOG?
Same here, Kaspersky popped out this message out of nowhere, didn't even play the game or use gog at the time:
