Seems like a cool game but games are getting shorter and shorter these days.

Anyone know if i can get over 30 hours of game play from this on first play through?

I barely started my first run, but from all the reviews I've read, you can expect at least 40h for a first run (maybe less if you're an exceptionally fast reader), probably a lot more if you like to take your time and being thorough (or save-scum to check different options in certain dialogues and skillchecks).

That being said, this is a game that begs for at least a second run, maybe more, to uncover everything it has to offer.
From what I understood, the conclusion of the investigation is more or less the same, but you just get there using different means based on the type of character you made (you distribute 12 points among four different primary abilities, each influencing a set of six secondary skills, including one "signature" ability).
From the developer's devblog:

"How long is a colossal game? Well, it takes 60+ hours of continuous playtime to finish Disco Elysium if you’re a reasonably completionist player, as I am. It takes 90 hours if you’re absolutely savouring every detail. And 30 hours if you’re rushing it. Back-of-the-box, I would put playtime at: 60+ hours."
It's quality over quantity!

Most reviews I read/watched stated it took them around 40 hours to complete single playthrough,
Thanks for the info guys :)
It took me 60 hours to finish the game and I think I did everything, except for a couple of very minor side-quests that I didn't complete in time or didn't want to do because spoilers, and two white checks that disappeared after a certain point, only one of which might have locked some interesting dialogue.

Took me 15h according to the playtime visible on GoG. Not sure how dependable those numbers are. I'm pretty sure I found and did most of the quests and stuff I could with my build (4/3/2/3). But the 60-90 hours sounds like complete and utter bullshit. Maybe I read too fast.

I would say that taking 60 hours isn't bullshit at all since I did it, but I totally don't think one will get 90 hours out of a single playthrough. There might be around 90 hours in total if one starts another playthrough to unlock the thoughts he missed the first time around. That said, it very much depends on how one plays the game.

Completed my first playthrough in 18h 59m. Great game btw!
Finished my first playthrough at 60 hours yesterday. I did try to follow up on all side quests, though.

Just finished the game on the first playthrough in 37-something hours. I think I got most of the tasks done. Maybe there are more secret tasks, but I got quite a lot done. I probably read things too fast.
