No matter what I try, after reinstalling the game five times, after trying multiple times to run the game in administrator mode, and after checking to make sure every part of my PC was up to date, the game has failed to start. Sometimes it gets as far as the mist/smoke graphic before the main menu loads or it might even let me get to the main menu itself. However, if I try to reload or even start a new game, the program just goes to my desktop. Sometimes I get messaged by Windows that the application isn't responding, but most of the time the game just crashes. I even purchased the game on Steam to see if it was a GOG problem and, nope, the exact same problem came up. I'm really frustrated because I've finally managed to set some time aside to play this game and instead I've spent over five hours searching online for a solution and finding nothing.

Specs OS:Windows 10 All Updates Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz Memory: 8GB Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB latest updates DirectX: Version 12

I'm aware that my CPU isn't up to snuff, but the game worked fine before.

Update: I rolled back on my recent driver updates and that got the game to run, but very poorly.

Win10 Pro, up to date

8GB RAM
Same config. Doesn't work.
Same thing, i cannot play, i have freeze and crash every 30 min...

Me too! I'm troubleshooting it now. Not getting past the smoke.
I got it working by:

- Downloading the newest nVidia driver

When the game loads, it was at 2x my 1080p resolution. I dropped the resolution and it became much more responsive.
I have a AMD config, and the last pilot, i do not think is that
At least, for AMD config

However, recent updates for the game are out, I'll try again, maybe they fix the problem.
Having the same issue, has anyone been able to get a reliable solution?
I have the same problem with an Intel UHD 620. I bought the game a few months ago. I tested it back then and it was running fine. But since then the game has been patched and it just doesn't run anymore. It always crash during the smoke animation. I have tried reinstalling, running the exe in Admin mode but with no luck...

Too bad that I can't revert the game to its original state when I bought it and was still running on my PC...

I just hope the next update will fix this issue.

PS : The Final Cut version solved that issue. It just takes one minute to boot and then everything runs normally like it used to be. I have disabled the auto updates just in case a patch breaks it again

Glad to hear it got fixed in the final cut.
I suddenly had this problem after the october 21 patch, although the game ran smoothly before. And I've been struggling with this for 2 days, and uninstalling / repairing didn't work at all.

Finally I (1) installed the game outside of the ProgramFiles folder, (2) and ran the game from the game folder shortcut (3) as admin. And. It. Worked.

+1 Interfacing.
