You move parties of up to 4 units around the map. Each unit can only do 1 thing. The main possibilities are basically ranged attack, melee attack, spellcaster group attack, heal single, heal group. Click the unit and watch the same boring animation.
You get the idea. There are games out there as more sophisticated over this one than human beings are over the amoeba.
