The game is a chore to play, there's slowdown on the map screen, and on the battle screen when there is a big spell.

This doesn't happen on my brother's laptop with Intel integrated graphics. It seems that modern GPU drivers often break older games, and Intel graphics are better at keeping backward compatibility.

Not sure about that. I have an NVidia card and Disciples 2 runs perfectly for me. The slowdown you're getting could be caused by other factors.

Dude, I have an m11x. I just switched to the Intel graphics and all the slowdown is gone.

You probably have out of date Nvidia drivers.

It happened on older games too, like Geneforge.
toggle the translucesent ... or ... something like that effects option

Edit: High quality translucency effects. Turn them off.

I think I'll just play on the Intel integrated graphics.

It sucks though, my computer should be able to run 10 copies of the game concurrently. Buggy POS drivers. I hate it when there's past features that stop working.

That's why I don't buy ATI anymore, it was a lot worse.

Finally the shit Intel graphics are useful for something.
