I have recently played disciples1, managed to finish the Empire campaign before the constant game freezing finally chased me off the game permanently.

This is the first GOG game i have bought that will not work properly on my computer Vista 64bit.

(i have tried the compatibility mode fixes which only worked for a short while)

I wanted to buy Disciples 2 but not if it has issues like Disciples 1?

Thanks for the reply, i will heed your advice.
It has bin a while since posting the above,, anyway, i had come back to the game recently to do the mountain clan campaign.

I had already put my computer on fail safe default in bios for other reasons before playing. I played the game and although it would crash quickly one time, after that first crash it would never crash!

I could play hour after hour, i could go out and come back - still working! WOW!

Then stupidly i tried putting my computer back on turbo settings. Immediately the game started crashing every few seconds.

Quickly i put the computer back on fail safe default, but no, game still crashing like mad.

I played around with compatibility options and other options extensively, and got some improvement, but still not as good as it was before i changed the bios settings to turbo.

One other thing i noticed, before when the game was running good, the operating system was having a bit of trouble loading and having failed loads.... so i ran a disk check and it reported finding space available on the HDD reported as having some kind of 'bitmap' file which it got rid of. I wonder if fixing that is why the game suddenly started crashing constantly?

Also it was never changing the screen resolution when it was running good, afterwards it has been changing my screen resolution again which is what it was doing (along with crashing) when i first played the game.
