I bought Disciples 2 Gold and was wondering which files do I want or expansions? They don't seem to combine together and they all seem like stand alone games. Do I want to install Rise of the Elves and Galleans return? I believe I saw somewhere that The Elves expansion has the 4 original and 1 new (not including the 4 in Galleans return) then Galleans return which has the 4, but no others. So overall I would want to install Rise of the Elves and Galleans return and not the original? Someone help me out here I'm terribly confused about which ones to install or not.
You guys are going to have to tell me if I'm right, but I should only install Rise of the Elves, and Galleans Return correct? They both have the original stuff included and extra, and they each have their own respective content making the regular disciples 2 useless to have installed.
Gallean's return includes original game and Rise of the elves has separate executable. Install all of them. And if you notice horrible slow-downs, disable the hi-resolution translucency effects...
Why would I have to install all of them if Galleans has the original and it's content, and Elves has it's content and the original?
Well sure you don't have to, for all I care you can only install Adobe Reader.
Now for the facts: No, Elves don't have Gallean's return and you can only have Gallean's Return installed if you have original Disciples 2 installed, since that expansion isn't stand-alone. I have just launched Rise of the Elves and there's no way I can tell of to access Gallean's Return sagas, while in original it's accessed by simply launching new saga, picking a side and then you can choose if you wish to play the original or GR.
You are wrong on this one, since Galleans Return does not require the original Disciples 2 because it has all the content of the original and the 2 campaigns within it. While Rise of the Elves only has it's Elves content and the original game. So you would only need Galleans return and Rise of the Elves installed to have everything and gain nothing from installing just the original.
Well I have just downloaded the installer and ... Well there's no way to even install original Disciples 2, only bundled with expansion. Not sure how retail works, thou. That's how GoG usually does it when the expansion is dependent on the original and get their hands on a bundle. So basically, as far as GoG version goes, which I suppose you've bought, you install both.
