My Mainhero and two of my Units have a small swordsymbal at their picture.

What does that symbol mean? The party isn't entchantet and only the Hero has permanent potionbuffs.

it just means they are high level units. if memory serves me right, they get a blue sword around level 5 (8?) and it slowly turns darker until it's dark red around level 10 (12?). it helps you assess the strength of units before you attack.
