I'm sorry for being anal about something like this, it's just that as it stands people might get the wrong impression about the game's graphics. That would be a great pity if it manages to scare off potential players. After all, one of Disciples 2 strongest selling points is it's incredible artwork. In fact, that is what drew me to the game initially when I saw it in a gaming magazine many years ago. It is also one of two games that brought me to gog in the first place, the other being the original Age of Wonders.

seconded! the D1 screenshots look better than D2's
Heh... I must say I never noticed that. Well, I also played it before I come here, so right. Still - it would be better to fix it - was it from alpha/beta? Because there is no such avatars in game.

Now that you mention it, perhaps it was. I finished all 5 campaigns and don't recall seeing any of those avatars. In the very least they definitely don't correspond to those units. I also just now noticed how the centaur and the elf have the same avatars, so yeah, I'm guessing those are alpha screenshots. Possibly they were placeholder avatars from Sacred Lands used in the alpha.

To be honest - I saw a few pictures like that... Is it that difficult to find a good screenshot of this game? I remember I saw once a screenshot 'from Dark Propethcy' with elven ranger-hero avatar on center of it... but suprisingly it was just avatar, without the frame around it, not squad description or unit. Just normal view of map and this big unit avatar, so I think this was also a alpha/beta.
