Hello world,

current selected Strategy First games promo is so good I decided to pick up Disciples: Sacred Lands Gold Edition. No doubt the game rocks as hell and is definitely worth even the full price. Unfortunately, I found a strange glitch connected with sound effects and, especially, the music. To be more precise - I am able, from time to time, to hear strange noises, some kind of sound flickering, music clicking in the background. I tried to turn the DirectSound on and off, but it does not seem to affect this at all. Do any of you also experience such strange sound/music interference in GOGed Disciples: Sacred Lands Gold? I do not have any other copy of the game to check whether it is a GOG-related problem or specific for all versions of the game.

Just for debug info - I have DirectX 9.0c, Win XP Pro SP3 x86 and a CMI8738/C3DX sound card integrated with an Asus P4B266 mobo. Video is served by the Sapphire ATI Radeon 9550 256MB. Main drivetrain is P4 2GHz, accompanied by 1.25GB of RAM.

Clearly this does not by any mean break the gameplay or disrupt the experience, yet it can be unpleasant from time to time, especially because the sound effects in this games are so great (and the outstanding music is cool to listen to, even with these damned snaps).

Thank you guys very much in advance!

Alright, I guess the problem is fixed for me, thanks to similar topic @MaximB created today morning.

I just went to Control Panel -> Sound and Audio Devices -> Audio tab, then under Sound Playback (1st option from top) I clicked Advanced... for my C-Media Wave Device. Then, under performance tab I changed the Hardware Acceleration from MAX (4 out of 4) to "Limited acceleration" (2nd slider tick). This basically did the trick.
