I've finally bought Disciples Gold and I try to run it with wine.
It installs fine but when I run it, it complains in French for some reason about my CD-ROM drive.

It doesn't save anything when O run the config.exe but I can edit the .ini file manually.
What should I change there ?

Hi,

I had exactly the same issue today :) Run Wine config and under the drives tab, add a drive (normally it should be called D: if a D: wasn't already in the list), make sure it's a CD-ROM in the Advanced settings. Apply and close the wine config, run the Disciples config, make sure CD drive is D:, run the game!

Enjoy,

Thanks it did the trick...
But now I realize that this is not the Disciples In was expecting, for some reason I thought it to be Disciples 2 :(

Now I don't have wine but, I was getting the same French CD error message, here is what I posted in a similar thread:
EASY SOLUTION (at least for me):
I don't have a net book but, I was getting the exact same french CD error Message of the OP....so finally I went to the config program in the games Exe file folder, and turned off PLAY INTRODUCTION...and guess what? No error message, and it now is working fine! Hope that is the easy fix for everyone =)
SO FOR YOU: in the Disciple Configuration Settings (In the same Exe folder as config program) just change play intro at startup to Intro=0, and that should do the trick, I hope, though of course our computers are radically different, worth a try though. :)

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realize you had already fixed it months ago...well maybe someone else will read this and it will help them at least.

Bump. Just wanted to say this worked for me too. Thank you so much! I was afraid I couldn't play this, especially since I got sucked into the demo.

You're a life saver. Thanks for this!
