If you have an ATI card and cannot run Disciples 1 in your preferred Disciples GPU scaling setting and find that it constantly resets your GPU scaling setting to "Centered" here is how to fix it.
1. Changing GPU scaling setting in the Catalyst control center is a little weird. you have to set your screen resolution to something lower than the recommended setting. Then you can change the scaling option. After this you can set the resolution back.
2.Go to you Disciples folder and find the config file. It should be in GOG.com > Disciples Gold> Exe. Look for the config file labeled DISCIPLES. Open it and set Ddraw=1.
3. Right click the Disciples icon and select Properties. Then select the Compatibility tab. After that check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows 98/ Windows Me.
The game should now run in your preferred GPU scaling setting.
