i can't believe it, yet another problem with a game and again google gives me some promising forum links that are broken.
anyway, this is the error message i immediately get when trying to start disciples 2.
the forum for the game at www.strategyfirst.com looks like it has the answer from the google results. I dont know if its just me, but i cant go there, in fact it wont let me go to any of the forums there, it's sort of like clicking a broken link and the page says "database error"
i have disciples 2 gold version
Anyone? PLZ HELP!
Those forums seem to be gone, so it's just not you getting that database error.
Start by trying to re-install the game. If you're on Vista/Win7 install it by right clicking the setup and choosing 'Run as Admin' instead of double clickling on it.
okay, thanks again namur, i'll try the re-install first. i've never been lucky enough to fix problems that easily, ha ha, but its worth a try.
blah, no good after the reinstall, i get the same message
Ok, try tweaking the compatibility settings on the game's shortcut.
Also, it wouldn't hurt if you were to post your specs.
I don't have the GOG version, but there is supposed to be a Setup.exe or Config.exe or whatever it's called :P in the game folder - try changing the settings there (like Direct3D acceleration).
intel atom processor 1.6 ghz
intel gma 950

windows xp home
i know this isn't much but i figured it should certainly run disciples 2, i did try playing with compatibilites and the configure, still no good. i've been looking into getting a desktop since i've been more interested in pc gaming again lately, that way i'll have a better chance with running most programs or games, and at least the option of upgrading.

I have the same problem, atom CPU and g500 graphics.

I think the problem is related to the notebooks using weird graphics sizes, mine's 1024 by 576...go figure.

These older games assume a standard set like 800 by 600 or 1024 by 768 etc.

I had simillar problem with Diablo 2, but found that it could be solved by starting the game in a window. Blizz is still actively supporting that game too.

I've been in loops with Disc 2, the config tool only supports fixed rez for the windows it seems.

Impulse should do more to help support users, like a forum for each game for example
Same problem here, same message, so far I can't see any solution given by admins to solve it??I have WIN 10,
