I'm sorry, are you people nuts?

Like, I get wanting an official copy, and I appreciate Gog trying to do this, but maaaan this is sloppy same as the RE ports, barely any good resolution options, it just looks worse than the original, lack of good control mapping, bugs that, to be fair, were present in this version, but you expect it to be fixed.

The raving reviews are embarrassing just cause ''i can throw money at thing now!'' with zero care for quality, how do you expect them to improve it.

You're paying for a worse product that you can get for free, with a mod made for free, that is just objectively better, granted, i get it, MK ports are bad, SN ports have a leg up, but idk man, if there's a will there's a way.

If you don't scrutinize the product you're willing to pay for, they're always going to offer you the same quality, cause, why change if no one complains. I WANT these ports to be good I WANT to throw money at it, but I refunded man, I shoulda done it with the RE ones, but i had hopes they'd fix it more and figure how to add more options like Rebirth, the resolution ones being the most important to me, cause as it is, it looks like ass in comparison.

It's the same issues as RE, cause, why should change it, it got raving reviews and people can throw money at product I guess.

This is depressing.
Whilst there are some issues, what many people seem to forget and fail to realise, is that with old legacy titles like this, GOG's main M.O is to provide a legal way to purchase the games and make them playable on modern operating systems.

Adding additional functionality and fixing deeper rooted bugs and issues is beyond the scope of said M.O. GOG are not a remastering company like Nightdrive, they simply provide a working version of an old product.

The reason they make is so old games is playable on PC today not to make remaster like you expect them to be

Dino Crisis 1 looks awesome in this port. Much better than the original PS1 version.

It also looks better than the original PC version, because the wobbly models and textures have been fixed and updated. I wish they would do the same with Resident Evil 3.

For dc2
you can customize the resolution with the included DirectX wrapper. It also support's integer scaling. It's not a remake but a port. It also is supposed to include both JPN and USA versions (dc1?). F9 helps you exit and F7 may turn anti-aliasing on/off. Capcom and other companies also have strict policies with their IP. Many old games are being discontinued by companies. They-- Capcom may do a remake in the future.

They, gog have already started to patch and improve DC1 , as far as I know, on hotfix2 so far.

Update : resolution in dc1 is bad/broken will try DXwnd... Edit: gog galaxy may have Japanese version.
Found a bunch of specific info on ports: https://dinocrisis.fandom.com/wiki/Porting_of_Dino_Crisis For DC1 arrange mode may be similar to another version of the game.

I have Dino Crisis 2 on Disc here, a few Years i tried to install it on Windows 10.
It was not possible to play it, i tried this and that, but nothing.

At that Time, not even the great Modder of the REbirth Mods had a Version out.

So it was impossible to play it on a modern System, not only that, but also impossible to buy them besides of used old Discs.

These Versions now work out of the Box and they don't cost the World.
The Rebirth Versions have some Advancements over those, but i can't say that these are sloppy Ports.

I can only recommend to buy them and have fun.

The controller Support is great with the Hotswap and all the Resolutions to choose from.
These releases are intended to provide an easy to access, legal way of owning and playing these old games. They do exactly that. Anything beyond that and you're getting into remaster territory which is a whole different thing.

For Dino Crisis 1 I used dgvoodoo 2.84 (exe and ini) kept same ddraw.dll from game and added the other 2 files from MS x86 folder. It has options on the wrapper under directx like crt look, keep aspect ratio, I don't know how but the 3 point rendering seem to fix the jointed elbows. Played in windowed 640x480. Used emulated card . selected 5700 Ultra.
For DXWND 2.06.07
Found a new build, may import and modify a capcom supported game dxw profile. Using the built-in F7 filter after starting the game was able to get 320x240 windowed mode to work. Pretty useless for me as I couldn't get fullscreen working, but glad it works 16-bit color.
