The biggest problem with DC2 is the low definition static backgrounds.

Given that SolidFireGaming is already developing HD backgrounds and textures for DC2 on a donation basis, I wonder if we can convince GoG to hire and pay him so that his work can be included in the GoG release. It seems like it would be be beneficial for everybody involved; SFG gets paid a lot more to do the work he's doing anyway, and GoG's DC2 release gets a huge upgrade as a selling feature.
I agree. Or at least make the REX-HD Project optional when this mod comes out.

I guarantee you REX-HD will eventually support the GoG release, but why force users to mod things when GoG could support the creator directly and save us the trouble?

PS1 emulators have far better graphical enhancements than this does, so if I'm going to have to fiddle with mods and settings anyway, I may as well play the PS1 copy I already own rather than repurchase a graphically inferior version.
I'm on team "a good CRT filter makes AI-upscaling unnecessary". You simply can't get good results with upscaled 320x240 backgrounds unless you do a massive amount of manual edits.

I was exited to do this work. Upscaled pictures to 960p with Topaz, after that edited each background manually in photoshop.
What can I say? It is a lot of work, there are 2k+ backgrounds.. Also I must have skills in art and painting, because I wanted not loose the original look and atmosphere or make edited objects look stood out from the general background. You need to understand what perspective, contrast and exposure are as a minimum.

Very fast I became exhausted and lost my motivation... But I did starting location. Jungle and water tower.
