squid830: Have you tried to download DirectX 9 from Microsoft? Though most games will have this as part of the installer, it appears Diluvion does not.

Windows 10 comes with DirectX 10/11, but not 9.

You should be able to get it from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=34429

scubamatt: I have DirectX 11 installed on my machine. Does this game require an older version of DirectX to run? The error message says 'at least DirectX 9.0c' so I assumed that DirectX 11 would be fine.
I have created a topic with the workarround i found.
If wanna take a look and see if it solves ur problem also...

arachnidleo:
So I have a few questions.

First, the good - I LOVE the fixes to "browsing" inventory / shop / 2d town interface with a gamepad. It's much smoother now and less tempermental. Before it felt glitchy, now it's just fine.

The BAD:

1) It spins up my fans like crazy now. I'm not sure why or what's changed but it THINK it's my CPU fan that's spinning up constantly. On exiting the game, my GPU / CPU temps aren't bad at all (~50s). But the fan is spinning up like crazy (again, pretty sure on the CPU not the GPU or casefan).

2) I'm not a fan of the new controls. A bit more "floaty." Any pointers I can use on what settings I can tinker with to get the game to feel like it used to? Camera offset, distance, control scheme, arcade vs sim; that sort of thing?

As a short term solution I'll probably "roll back" to the previous version but I'd like to be able to use the recent update (assuming I can tackle the fan issue and get the controls like before) because I'm a bit worried about bugs and do like the fixes to location and inventory management with a gamepad.
