When I launch the game I can hear the splash screen music playing, I will maybe get one frame of a logo, then a black screen with an error box that simply saws

"SetEntries:Generic"

Im running in Windows 8 and Im still trying various compatibility options

Ive pretty much exhausted all compatibility options. I also tried running mods to see if those would kick it through with no luck.

I'm getting the same on Windows 8, Toshiba Laptop with Intel integrated graphics.

Anyone have any idea where this is coming from?

I had this problem too and I fixed it by downloading Die by the Sword Xtended mod here:

(had to split it because the forum didn't let me post links :S, just delete the spaces before and after the //)
It does a few other things to make the game run better on new pcs.

I confirm that Ludecan link worked for me too. Not only the xtended mod fixes startup issues, it also improves graphics. Though the game remains ugly, no miracle... At least it's playable now!

Hi, sorry. I see the last post got it working only 4 days ago. When I try the link for Xtended it brings up the thread but not a single download link to be found. I am having problems getting the Move Editor to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!
