Anyone who wants to party up add me on GOG.

I think most such messages are SP-only. If you are playing MP, even if no one else is in the game, you won't get the SP-only messages. MP does have a few forced messages, but mostly those are related to important monster deaths (Butcher, Leoric, Lazarus).

Such "fowl play" would surely be a bird rather than a bug. :) Perhaps trying to egg you on so it can feather its nest? Or escape the "yolk" of Diablo?

Of course, for more guidance on matters avian, Twitter may be a better bet...

You either meant when entering the Cathedral/Dungeon lvl 1, or "The smell of death surrounds me." :)
