I have tried most of the workarounds that were posted here to no avail. Also changing the launcher settings did not do anything

Never have encountered with any other GOG old game.

OH wow, that is definitely not normal. Which version are you using? Since it's windowed, could be DX, unless you added a dll to it that allows it in Classic.

If you crashed in the Classic version and have an extra dll attached, could you remove it from the directory and see if the crash happpens again?

@StormyFacade- I have tried all the combinations, nothing has worked so far. This is from 1.09 v4 version.

This works like a charm, however, it is just a workaround, it does not really address the issues.

With the help of GOG support, we managed to get my game into a playable state, but if not, I would be definitely using that.

Unfortunately, submitting a ticket through that page requires solving a captcha. Do you have any support options that are not an exercise in futility and frustration? Is there any way to avoid dealing with such consistently unsolvable captchas?
