So I'll play for a while, saving and exiting occasionally, then the save file just randomly disappears. It doesn't even exist in the dx folder any more. So I start a new game, play some more, save exit and load work fine for a while, then the save file disappears again. What is happening?

Also, I noticed that exiting the game seems to cause a crash with no error. the GOG launcher seems to think I'm still playing, but the process isn't even in the task manager for me to end it.

It could be a permission issue, try seeing if DevilutionX solves it: https://github.com/diasurgical/devilutionX/releases
