Hello all. I just purchased GOG's Diablo with the advertised Windows 10 compatibility built-in and higher rez available. Clicking the shortcut gives me a choice of changing video options, and from there I'm supposed to be able to choose a 1440p rez/full screen. However when I fire up the game, it's got giant black bars on either side and is definitely NOT 1440p. I've tried various resolutions and they all look exactly the same. The original Diablo that game with the game runs full screen and actually looks better than the new and improved version. Can anyone help?

It very likely is 1440, check the monitor resolution when you select it and it will confirm the resolution it is running in. The game itself isn't high definition, it just plays in a higher screen resolution (so that it doesn't have issues on modern machines), the image is just upscaled to fit, and will maintain it's original 4:3 aspect ratio giving the pillarboxed view on a widescreen monitor. There are plenty of posts in the forum threads here regarding this.
