I remember that some legit players used a scanner to recognize cheating players. Which cheat/dupe scanner would someone here recommend to use?

I remember I used a program called DiabloSaver/DiabloSight way back when playing Bnet was a thing. You can probably get it from one of the many Diablo 1 fan websites that are still floating around on the Internet.

I usually use DiabloGuard with the latest dupeslist.ini

You can try and it might catch some nooby cheaters. But it doesn't take a genius to cheat and pass a scan. Dupe lists are practically useless and sometimes fatally flawed. People can cheat themselves perfect gear and pass a scan. Also hackers can dupe legit items right off the back of another player and then that item might end up on a dupelist which wrongly flags the original legit player as a cheater.

I can usually spot a cheater just by looking at their life points and asking them about their gear and where they found it. Cheaters that want to appear as legit know how to evade detection so scanners are worthless on them.

And remember using a scanner or any third-party software makes YOU a cheater and a violates the EULA.

Thanks for the hint. I consider a scanner to be better than nothing. Most cheaters are rather careless and easy to detect.
