Don’t take my word for granted, but from my tests it seems devilutionX would be able to run Diablo smoothly on a potato ;)

quite the opposite. qndel is known to rape performance when he codes. he can easily take the game down to 10-20 fps even when it runs on gpu as tchernobug mod :o)
actually, his short period of involvement with the hell 2 mod also left the lagging legacy that was fully rectified only many months later.
devilution should be feeding off cpu like the hell 2, so it's even easier to lock it up like that.
it is only through performance optimization that this could be achieved properly. if someone else takes care of that.

The pixel lighting, which is what this thread is about, works flawlessly and adds a nice ambiance to the game. I look forward to its official release.

Qndel implemented this using GPU rendering, runs at 60hz even on integrated Intel HD GPU. But it does require a GPU, so potatoes should continue to use the old lighting. Afaik he plans to optimize it for mobile GPUs soon.

just ignore the ranting of an old fart - he doesn't even know C++ and instead of being eternally grateful for the stuff I coded for th2 (hp bars, floating numbers, alt highlighting, poison damage, item stat windows, perks and more ...) he continues to try to diminish my work everywhere - I guess too much vodka might cause that :)

unless you are running it on some EXTREMELY bad hardware, basically anything that can handle diablo at 60 fps shouldn't have problems with it

Updated the pixel light to latest changes from master, I think it should fully work now, would appreciate if someone could test it (Check if it doesn't corrupt vanilla characters in any way! - Make sure to make a backup of your characters before testing)
