I still have my original MacOS installer of Diablo. Too bad that version could not be ported forward. I know it was for the old MacOS 9 (pre-unix) and would probably be a lot of work.

There are about 5 fundamental changes that make it impossible to get the old Mac OS 9 release running on a modern Mac. Mac today is closer to a PC running Linux then it is to the original Mac OS 9.

However DevilutionX is already mostly working on modern Mac:

The GoG dx verison also doesn't officially work on battle.net, but DevilutionX actually has real TCP/UDP support, and generally works better on moderns systems, but I only post it when I the user isn't explicitly wanting to play via battle.net. The reason I post it in multiple topics is that a lot of people only read the replies to there own topics.

That's why I said that it's not official. Bnet or better alternatives may also come to devilutionX eventually.
