Since many people had complaints about hardcore features forced on them, we decided to add some new game modes. And one of them is called "Easy": features that were core element of The Hell mod are not present there. Battle lockdowns lifted, now it's allowed to leave battle through town portal and stairs, quest levels do not lock you either, overall monster and trap damage is reduced by 20% and it's allowed to save in battle.

In addition, for those who want challenge without permanent death, we added "Hard" mode. Monsters and traps do 20% more damage, and monster behavior is changed to be more aggressive.

Hey Mordor,

I hope all is well with you. We have a user in our discord asking about a mod where the butcher still drops the butcher's cleaver in multiplayer? Is this a feature that is currently implemented in TH2? Can we send him your way?

Just wanted to say thank you since those were the biggest issues I had with the mod that's otherwise fantastic. :D
Well this seems a more appropriate thread for this...
I had a character die in the poisoned water supply, on Normal, yet my only option is to murder the character or start from level 1. Is there some 'feature' involved here?

if it was normal mode, then you did not save game. save sustem is like original Diablo. you save manually. game does not auto save for you.

although, it seems people nowadays are accustomed to it and maybe there should be such an option...
I'd saved my first character enough but must have got caught up in the excitement; examining the saves themselves showed the time.

I went back and saved before the quest area, and died and there was the save where it should be, so pebcak error.

Just a side note, 1072x603 for 16x9 and the AA on looks nice enough; 864x486 looks closer to original but the pop ups such as inventory and character are displayed behind the front piece, which makes them mostly unusable, sadly.

then it's probably windows preventing the mod from saving to your hard disk / ssd (cant write to disk error). adding the mod folder to exceptions in quarantine settings helps with it.

config states 800x600 is minimal resolution. yes, original plays in 640x480 but th2 ui is not fully compatible with it. its too low of a resolution for modern gaming. and i decided in 2018 that 800x600 will be minimum. ui elements are built around that.
Err no, I think I just forgot to save - all seems fine right now.

Edit:
I highly recommend hard mode (and thus this mod) for Old hands at Diablo.

There's tons of new mobs and things to figure out.

Not interested in the ironman mode, would have preferred a [BNM] mode (non removable cursed items).

There's no dropping items on death so don't bother with a singleton multiplayer for that bit of fun, just remember to save in single player.
