Why i love diablo one.

I love diablo one in comparison to diablo two, because it has so much more atmosphere, you get the feeling right into the game, you are going down dungeon levels in the tainted church and as you delve deeper you find the corruption is darker and you feel you have to stop it !

I love diablo one because its so much harder than diablo two, the monsters are smart, the archers run away from you (like... forever until they get stuck in a corner) the monsters run the same speed as you, they gang up on you.
in d2 the monsters just stand there like chickens in a pen to be killed, in d1 they *%&" you over and throw you out, if you get stuck between 2 goatmen or steel warriors or something with the right hits you wont even be able to move.
In nightmare you wont even be able to kill anything without "fastest hit recovery" as you wont be able to move.

Some people hate diablo because of the fact you can only walk quite slowly everywhere, i think this adds to it, because the monsters go the same speed as you and so its harder. Also i think its better because if you ran you would be demolished by 500000 skeleton archers around the corner 8D

I love d1 because the unique items are actually pretty unique... really hard to find uniques, and magic items are often much better
The gold in d1 actually means something, as you can buy the best gear from the shop if you have enough gold.. and then its a tossup between a godly item or having enough potions to live.
You have to scrounge for gold in the first 5 levels and you can hardly afford a town portal or potions.

I love d1 because of the sound, the sound in d1 is amazing, you can HEAR exactly where your team are even if you cant see them, you hear the whickers and noises the monsters make, the general atmospheric sound is amazing and playing in the dark just seems right.
I love d1 because i think the characters look even more badass and cooler than d2, d2 they look "pretty" not like they should be fighting, but in d1 they look hardass and that they should be kicking your ass right now.
I love d1 because i can make a warrior with a huge axe and hew down hoardes of monsters by shouting "KAMIKAZE" and running into a room full of archers whilst drinking 50 potions. (shields are for pussies)

I love the monsters in d1 they are so much cooler than d2, i mean what do d2 monsters do? fuck all. monsters in d1 however some crumble into ash when they die, some explode in a shower of lava, some are even fucking invisible!! until they pop out right next to you and destroy you from all sides. One unique monster (which is my fave cool one) can even melt into the floor and pop up somewhere else.

I love d1 because you actually need some skills and teamwork to play it, when getting raped by monsters you have to retreat and use a doorway to channel the monsters onto your (my) massive chopping axe.

I love d1 because of the amusing items you can get, you can get BAD items in d1, not like in d2 where it gives you everything you want and more, in d1 you find an amulet and are going "holy shit yes i found an amulet badass" (hard to find) and then d1 says "haha fuck you" and chucks this in your face

I love d1 because it doesn't hold your hand, if you are hacking things to a mushy pulp and your armour breaks from too many hits, its fucking gone, you cant repair it anymore its destroyed, if fell off your muscley (spell?) torso into small pieces and you are now at the mercy of the hoardes of swarming various monsters you were happily chopping through.

I love d1 because of the graphics, weird i know, but i think everything looks so much cooler. The butcher for example, his hide out is filled with messy corpses on spikes and i can see how this might actually upset some younger people because its pretty realistic.

I love d1 because when you first play you will go "oh yeah we can take the butcher no problem" and you will reach him when you are level 3, you will get DE STROYED no joking you will be running everywhere, you wont even be able to escape his fast stunlock. I never even bother trying until im level 8, and the skeleton king you can just forget as he leeches about 100% life per hit.

I love/hate d1 because when you die, all your shit falls on the floor, you cant just get up and go "ahh ill just get my items back easilly" oh no, you have to go down where you died avoid the mass of monsters which killed you, avoid the dissapear bug and hopefully pick some of your items up whilst not being able to press alt so you don't know where they are.

I HATE d1 because if you click an item too fast sometimes it dissapears (every single one of my items suffered this fate in conjuntion, because of various reasons, so i quit with that char) this is especially bad if you have just died

I love/hate d1 because you cant press alt to see where anything is, you have to scan the whole place with your mouse, im not sure if this is something cool or not yet, its pretty annoying when you are trying to find a teeny ring, but its also pretty cool because you cant easilly look where everything is so making it more "realistic"

I HATE d1 because every time someone dies, changes armour/weapon or a boss speaks (lazarus) the game lags incredibly and you have to chug potions and hope you are still alive because if you die then it will lag even more. and it lags for everyone not just you.

I love/hate d1 because when your "ally" is shooting monsters and you get in the way, you are fucked, her arrows will hit you instead of them and not only will you get stunlocked you will be hurt a lot, the number of times i died to that..
I HATE d1 because of the same reason, but due to lag on the rogues screen she can be in another place but on yours she is still killing you by accident.

I HATE d1 because of the random crashes it suffers in the middle of a game, it can just exit to windows for no reason with "error" or something.

i HATE d1 because sometimes it can be impossible to get a game with someone else due to "high latency" it seems totally random to me.

I HATE d1 because your saved chars are saved on your computer so you cant play from anywhere else.

I think you'd love playing via Hamachi or some kind of tunneling service. I typically don't get terrible connection with playing that way.

Also, character saves are saved in the game's root folder titled "Single_0-9.sv" or "multi-0-9.sv"

You can easily copy them to a USB to play on other computers using the same characters on various copies of hte same version :3

I think i tried converting my saves to another game and it didn't work out, probably I just did it wrong :)

How to play on hamachi stuff? Usually playing on battle.net.

Typically, you just need to install Hamachi, and join a Hamachi server other Diablo players are on, and two of you need to be playing at the same time naturally. Also, if you do this, Hamachi has this yellow caution sign next to you that appears, click that, there'll be a setting to unblock the other person's connection to you.

It's typically how Diablo: The Hell multiplayer goes.

You can also just use Tunngle instead, which is easier. Only works for LAN connection modes as far as I remember. :3
