I know this is not a GOG game, but I am looking get (back) into Diablo 2 Resurrected, and I was wondering if there was any good place that collected builds for the various character classes. Preferably, this would be something fairly detailed that gives you at least some idea of what skills a build should focus on, what skills to use early on before the build's main skills become available, possibly which attributes to pump, and maybe what item properties to keep an eye out for and to retain.

Thanks for these links.

I really liked the look of the builds over on maxroll, as they spell everything out very plainly. The only thing is that the leveling guides (and maybe all the build guides there) look like they were designed for speedrunners. That is not how I play D2 (or any other game). I am a completionist who believes a game needs to be savored, whatever the context is for "savored" for a particular game. In Diablo 2's case that means thoroughly exploring each area to complete the map, as well as clearing out each area once, as well as seeing/hearing all the game's dialogue possible, preferably on each difficulty.

What I would like to know is: in your opinion, can the builds on maxroll work for a longplayer like me?
If you have enough time, you will understand and implement any guide.
Maybe you will find something new for yourself here: purediablo.com

Icy Veins also has some good builds.
Thanks to everyone to their advice. Right now, I'm using the assassin leveling build on maxroll but doing so in a longplay manner, so I've actually advanced quite a lot ahead of their outlined progression timetable. I'm going to want more variety, however, so on the next playthrough I'm going to want a more flexible build, even if it is somewhat tougher to play in the earlier game.

Not sure if you saw my message in your other thread, but D2/D2R is one of my alltime favorite games, so if you have specific questions, feel free to reach out to me via DM.

I'm really into theory crafting in it, and just crafted my first Chains of Honor armor online. I know you probably don't want free items, but if you ever play online, I might be able to at least give you some runes to make a Stealth with as you level early on.

Cheers
I have, somewhere, the dead tree manual that came with Diablo II. One of the interesting things in it is builds for the various character classes. One of the builds for the Druid is called the Tank: you start off with Werewolf and Lycanthropy but switch over to Werebear as soon as you can. I tried it, but didn't like it because that bear is just Too Darn Slow! Instead, I came up with what I call the Light Tank. It starts out the same, but it sticks with the wolf, three summoned wolves (as many as you can get) and Oak Spirit. The most important thing, however, is Rabies because it's a great crowd control spell.

For those who aren't familiar with it, Rabies damages like a poison, but it's also a disease, and highly contagious. If you're being attacked by a mob of undead, being raised by a shaman, one hit with Rabies will infect whatever you connect with. Then, for the next several rounds, it will infect everybody in contact with that first target and so-on until it reaches the back of the mob and starts back. As you're continuing to use the spell, you end up with several waves going back and forth, killing those undead far faster than they can be raised. I hope that some of you will try it next time you have a werewolf in action.
