lazorus: diabdat.mpq isn't found (i double checked, in lowercase and in the same folder as the executable...,
Are you launching it from the same folder as the mpq or specifying a path in the call? Make sure the mpq isn't not marked as read only. Check the following is the same for you: ls -lh
-rwxr-xr-x 1 quote_12 quote_12 14M Mar 11 20:00 devilutionx
-rw-rw-rw- 1 quote_12 quote_12 494M Mar 6 17:31 diabdat.mpq
and then try launching with this:
./devilutionx
Lord_Casque_Noir: Diablo was only in english when he was sold in 1996. So don't ask gog to provide something which doesn't exist. If you played Diablo in another language, it was a mod of original game or you played diablo on playstation one.
There where actually several languages for the PS1 version. Some modes actually adds the audio from it to create a fully localized version. Depending on GoG's license deal this could be an option for them also. Rhiyo: What differentiates the X version from the in Devilution other if I may ask?
Edit: Nevermind, I think X is a multiplatform version. Too bad I get a directsound error, might be related to a recent change as I see sound files were changed yesterday.
Yes, Devilution is about recreating Diablo.exe version 1.09b byte for byte. DevilutionX then builds on top of that, porting it to multiple platforms and adding some optional QOL, in the future there will also be much better mod support in this version. Edit: Nevermind, I think X is a multiplatform version. Too bad I get a directsound error, might be related to a recent change as I see sound files were changed yesterday.
Thanks for reporting the issue, it has been fixed now (I think you might have been the one who reported it on Discord). Our releases are more stable, but there are also some important bug fixes that haven't been released yet.
