I have the game from here and would be interested in playing with other people but i cant seem to see an option to do so with this version.

Your questions isn't really clear, but you can use DevilutionX to play multiplayer if you are having issues with connecting to a server.

You have to launch "Diablo (Classic)" for Battle.net. It's the second option in the launcher, between "Diablo" and "Hellfire".
