when i try to go down to diablo pit on both Diablo and hellfire the bar loads about 1/4 and then nothing. the error hides behind the game and i ALT + TAB to view. i tried repairing but didnt work.

invalid sound format on file Monster\Diablo\Diablo 1.wav

any help would be nice. also please make it step by step with solution. I'm a computer person but i seem to mess up installing/moving files somehow.

I do not understand how to install devilutionx. as I mentioned I don't understand installing mods/importing stuff. i mess it up every time

You should reintsall game or do verify isntalaltion via GOG Galaxy client. Depend which one version you install. GOG alwasy provide two. And for anyone online versions from any launchers downloadong should be verified after eachdownload process.

Generally, "didn't work" would be interpreted to mean that you followed the suggested advice (in this case, using DevilutionX to play, instead of Diablo) and that the problem still occurred.
