TL;DR version:
Have you ever found a Bramble ring? If you have a character with it, are you willing to share it?

TL;R version:
Hello all! After about 6 years away, I had an itch to play the game again.

When I was last here, I was talking a lot about the impossible-to-drop, and the nearly impossible-to-drop unique items in the game. One of these is the Bramble ring (I think drops only extremely rarely in single player, and in levels 1 and 2 of the dungeon?), which as far as usefulness goes, is not a useful item at all. But the fact that I've been playing the game on-and-off ever since it first came out, and still have not seen every item in-game just drives me crazy.

I did runs of early Cathedral over and over hoping it would drop. And I found a Bleeder, one of my sought-after rare uniques, and was thrilled to finally see that artwork unique to this one item, but alas, no Bramble.

Back when I was last here, someone made a comment that I'd essentially have to use a trainer to import an item file into my character. And say what you will about using trainers and character editors ruining the fun of the game, I was desperate to have the item in-game, even if it meant cheating to get it. But the problem is, when I found really old archives of old item files from 20+ years ago, none of these even contained a Bramble! So I couldn't even cheat a Bramble onto my character!! This just make me want the Bramble even more. The fact that the archive of exported unique items is missing a Bramble!!

I also resorted to using a mod called Diablo Fixed, that specifically addressed these impossible drop tables. This wasn't exactly ideal, because it didn't quite fix the drop tables, as much as it substituted some items for others -- at the time I had a character that had two Constricting Rings, and the second I opened that character, it morphed them into a Bramble and a Bleeder. So... I had my (cheat) unique ring, right? Sadly, no. The second I tried to take it into a new game after undoing the mod, it turned back into a Constricting Ring. It basically just substituted some values and artwork to make it look and act like a Bramble, without being one. (Also, I believe I tried exporting the item data of this pseudo Bramble when it was a Bramble, but importing that data again just imported a Constricting Ring instead I believe. It was six years ago.)

So, after doing countless Cathedral runs without success, and trying to cheat my way to get one without success, I thought to ask -- have any of you ever gotten one? Does anyone have a character with one they are willing to share?

EDIT: How do I unmark this topic as a "Help needed" topic? It's probably not appropriate to be marked as such because this isn't exactly a problem.

EDIT 2: I did some reading on more modern mods like DevilutionX that have come out since I was away, and it looks like there is a mod based on it that also tried to fix the unique drops, but it sounds like it's doing an identical thing as Diablo Fixed -- items morphing and then morphing back.

DevilutionX 1.6.0 will have a proper fix for the issue with the items that never dropped, you can download the latest test version and the unique items will drop at the intended rate with out you having to leave the game running. The items also shouldn't morph even if brought back in the original. Feel free to help test it out. Someone on the Discord might also be willing to create it and give it to you if you ask there.
Can you revert DevilutionX characters back into vanilla Diablo?

EDIT: Is this the Diablo 1996 Discord listed in the FAQs?

EDIT 2: Nevermind, I found the DevilutionX Discord.

EDIT 3: So, I tried the test version of DevilutionX from the GitHub, and Griswold gave me a Bramble in Nightmare for the Magic Rock quest. Excitedly, I tried to revert the character to vanilla, to see if it was stable in a new game, and sadly it morphed into a Ring of Engagement. As long as it stays in DevilutionX, it's stable in a new game though. Man, I swear this ring is teasing me. I'll never get a stable Bramble in Vanilla...

EDIT 4: So long as I'm 'testing' the stability of unique items given in DevilutionX, Ogden gave me a Helm of Sprits (sic) on Hell, and although technically not an impossible unique, Jarulf's guide says it's impossible on Normal. I reverted the character back to Vanilla, and this Helm of Sprits WAS stable, and stayed that way in a new Vanilla Normal game. Also, just to clarify, the name does show up correctly as "Spirits" in DevilutionX.

Items that cannot drop at all in vanilla won't be stable.
