So the store pages gives us this:

"For those wanting something a bit more modern, Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game tuned for today’s gaming PCs, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, a host of bug fixes and high-resolution support."

Which tells me nothing.
Would anyone be kind enough to tell me what this updated version brings? I'm mainly curious about:

1 - Whether or not you can run the game in 16:9/16:10 full screen without the game being stretched.

2 - If you can play in a window: Can you resize the window without stretching the game?
2a - Does the mouse cursor stay inside the window for most people? I've read that some have trouble keeping track of it.

3 - Are there any quality of life improvements, like more inventory space and, more importantly, being allowed to run in town?

I thank you for your kindness.

Edit: I stumbled upon this thread, and I think it answers enough:

Going to pass on this then. I still own the original, and some guy made a ddraw.dll mod which allows me to run it just fine, although I lose my mouse cursor when it gets outside of the screen. I wish that GOG's version would at least fix that.

Coincidentally, I played the game two weeks ago. Was pretty psyched seeing this appear on GOG, but from what I can guess, it's not different than what I already have. Bummer.

GOG, please be more honest in your product descriptions.

1 - You get a black box on the sides. The application will be fullscreen, but actual game window stays in 4:3.

2 - You can, but again you'll get a black box if you pick a resolution with higher aspect ratio than 4:3

3 - No. Plain old Classic Diablo :)

Against losing cursor, I recommend any app that can lock mouse to game window, for example Borderless Gaming can do that.
